Mpumalanga earns its 'place where the sun rises' name pretty literally. Every profile that reaches the site has been checked by a person, not a bot scanning for keywords. If something looks off, it gets held back before it reaches you. That doesn't catch everything, but it does mean fewer obviously fake accounts cluttering the page. It takes two minutes and zero rand to start your own profile.
Mbombela's Lowveld Botanical Garden has a slow-paced loop along the Crocodile River and is easy without being touristy. Sabie's main street keeps a couple of unfussed cafes near the falls. Graskop's pancake stops are a standard Mpumalanga first date. Harrie's is the one most people land at. Dullstroom suits anyone who'd rather meet over trout dams and a fireplace in the cold months.
