Donkin Reserve at last light, the white lighthouse and the stone pyramid keeping their watch over the bay, Algoa stretching away under the city, is the older Gqeberha showing through the new name. Past 50 here lives in Summerstrand and Walmer down by the sea, in Lorraine and Mill Park inland, with Despatch and Uitenhage out toward the airport. People have weathered the city renaming itself and most things else.
Every profile is read by a person before it goes live, not auto-approved, not run through a keyword filter and let through. If something looks off, it's pulled. That doesn't catch everything, but it does mean the page you're scrolling has had a second pair of eyes on it. Your profile is free to make.
The Boardwalk in Summerstrand has the obvious cafes and a slow walk to King's Beach for afterwards. Donkin Reserve up on the hill works for a heritage walk with the bay laid out below. Pollok Beach and Hobie Beach suit anyone wanting the quieter version, and Walmer's Stanley Street has the bookshop-cafe pace that doesn't depend on tourists. The Baakens Valley walking trails work for fitter members.
